LTA Local Local Player Development Centre

We're always excited about tennis and developing new talent naturally here at Everyball -- but this Autumn (2018), we've got even more reason to be! Everyball Tennis at Halton UK is proud to announce that we have been selected to be one of the Lawn Tennis Association's Local Player Development Centres.

What will this mean? Well, we're going to carry on providing a fun, exciting and challenging place for children of all ages and abilities to play tennis, to develop their skills, and to grow their love of the game. That won't change!

We'll be providing regular, high-quality training -- drawing on the talents and experience of our highly-qualified coaching staff -- as well as regular, challenging competitions for aspiring younger players. We're looking to attract athletic, high-energy children to tennis -- then nurture their development as well-rounded players on the court.

Of course, because this is Everyball, the skills and strategies they develop on the court will carry through into their everyday lives: respect, responsibility, resilience, and reflection, as well as courage, curiosity and creativity. We know it's a winning combination.

Everyball Tennis at Halton UK is one of eleven centres to be accredited in the East of England, and one of just fifty across the entire country. The newly-named centres mark a significant milestone in the development of a new ten-year Performance Strategy for British tennis, and is designed to enable high-potential players to train and compete regularly with each other every step of the way from the age of seven.

And this is only the beginning. The LTA is also supporting the pathway along which those with the greatest potential can progress -- with Regional Player Development Centres and two National Academies, ending in a Pro-Scholarship for 16-24 years olds. And there's some real experience behind it all, with an advisory group including Jamie Delgado, former coach to Andy Murray; Sam Smith, former top British female player; and Tim Henman, four-time Wimbledon semi-finalist.

Mike James, Director of Tennis, says, "we're delighted to be part of this exciting new LTA programme, and look forward to identify and nurture the great potential we see in our community. We will increase our outreach into the local area and will provide lots of opportunities for school children and their families to come and see one of the premier tennis clubs in the UK. We're proud to have been chosen and look forward to working closely with the LTA to develop new talent -- as well as staying true to our Everyball values in everything we do, on the court and off."
