Teens and tennis: A great combo

We are delighted to be holding the Secondary Schools Winter Cup for the first time, bringing together our Everyball partner secondary schools for a fun-packed afternoon of friendly competition in a mini tennis format.

Pupils from John Colet, Sir Henry Floyd, Aylesbury Grammar and Aylesbury High are all fielding teams in the competition quadrangle on Saturday, 2nd February from 2 to 4pm at Halton Tennis Centre.

The Everyball Secondary Schools Winter Cup is the first of two events coming up this year for our secondary school students.  The second will be held outdoors in the Summer using the yellow ball and the more traditional format.

James Morgan, head coach at Everyball, says, "We are really pleased at the response we have had from the students and we look forward to bringing many of them to the club for the first time to play with us. We believe that fun and relevant competition is key for retention in sport, and this initiative provides a great way to hook students into the game of tennis. Training is only a part of our sport, and if we can provide students with a really good experience of competition in a fun and safe team environment, then we will achieve our aim."

If you have a son or daughter at one the secondary schools listed above and they have not yet registered their interest to play, it's is not too late!  Email james@everyball.net for more details and to let him know your teen would like to play.

A full report of the day will follow and if your young player would like to contribute their impressions of the competition to the March edition of our OPEN newsletter, we would love to hear from you.  Simply drop James an email.
